FACILITIES TO RENT

The Holden Arboretum has a variety of facilities, from informal to stately, available for meetings, weddings and special events. Rentals are available to nonprofit, educational, cultural, or civic groups and corporations as well as individuals. Hosting your meeting at Holden offers an opportunity to tour a garden or collection or to have a staff expert present an indoorCollage of Holden rental sites program from a wide range of topics.

 Scheduling and availability: Reservations can be made up to one year in advance. Weekends in the spring, summer and fall fill quickly. For more information contact Jim Hignite at 440.946.4400, ext. 220.

Holden Facility Rental Rates

Smoking is prohibited in Holden’s buildings, gardens and natural areas. There are designated smoking areas on the grounds.


WARREN H. CORNING VISITOR CENTER:

The Corning Visitor Center includes the guest service’s information desk, the Reinberger classroom, the Corning Library, the Museum Store, and patios overlooking the popular Arlene and Arthur S. Holden Sr. Butterfly Garden

and access to Reflecting and Crystal ponds. Audio-visual equipment, a projection screen and a small commercial kitchen are also available.

The Reinberger classroom seats up to 80 people auditorium style or 45 at tables.

The Corning Visitor Center lobby, which is available in the evenings, seats up to 150 people auditorium style or 125 at tables.

Arrangements for a catered meal should be made directly with the caterer. A list of approved caterers familiar with our facilities is available from the Corning Visitor Center. Our staff can provide ice, coffee and other beverages for a nominal fee.


SHELTER HOUSE:

The Shelter House sits across a shallow ravine at the south edge of the picnic area, overlooking scenic Foster Pond. This rustic open-air shelter has a stone fireplace, picnic tables and grills. Plastic walls can be rolled down in inclement weather. Seventy-five people can be accommodated at the picnic tables within the shelter, but groups as large as 150 can use the shelter and surrounding area for private functions. Reservations are required.

The Shelter House, picnic area and grills are available year round. Electricity is provided at this site. Alcohol is prohibited on Holden grounds. Private parties are welcome.


LANTERN COURT:

This historic Georgian-Colonial style estate house is located on 25 acres a short drive from The Holden Arboretum's main gardens. The Lantern Court  gardens are noted for their beauty, variety and year-round interest. Several special perennial collections are displayed here, including the hosta, primrose, rock and alpine garden collections.

Lantern Court offers an elegant setting for meetings, lectures and workshops. Guided house tours and garden toursLanter court are offered through the Holden class schedule and to groups reserving the facility. Lantern Court is available to nonprofit organizations and educational groups. It is not available for private parties.

The living room seats 50 people for programs or 40 for meals. Groups can be seated on the terrace overlooking the woodlands in good weather, or for informal meals, in the arcade. A list of approved caterers is available by request. Simple refreshments can be served to small groups by Lantern Court staff for a minimal fee.
