When
You Arrive …
Stop in at
the Warren H. Corning Visitor Center, which houses the Warren H. Corning Library
and Rare Book Room, the Museum Store, information desk and Reinberger Classroom.
The building’s two patios provide spectacular year-round views of the Arlene and
Arthur S. Holden Butterfly Garden, with its waterfall and two ponds, and the
Crabapple Collection. This fabulous garden provides a two-acre home for a
profusion of plants that attract caterpillars, butterflies and hummingbirds.
Summer brings an explosion of color to the garden that surrounds two ponds and a
waterfall, attracting birds, butterflies and people alike. There is nothing more
appealing than sitting on the patio on a warm summer afternoon; listening to the
waterfall and watching the nectar gatherers visit the flowers.
The
grounds and gardens are open from dawn to dusk for Holden members; restrooms in
the Corning Visitor Center are accessible dawn to dusk.
During
your Holden visit, stop in at the Corning Visitor Center to see frequently
changing art exhibits or the annual members photography contest; pick up more
information on upcoming programs and exhibits or to check out a Discovery Pack
filled with activities to help our younger guests learn more about nature.
