| Description | With its focus on coordinating breath and flowing gestures, Tai Chi is often described as meditation in motion. Medical research supports the many benefits of Tai Chi including positive effects on the immune system, lower blood pressure, increased flexibility and muscle strength, improved range of motion and balance, and reduced joint and back pain. The gentle movements develop awareness of “chi” for empowering inner stillness and relieving stress and anxiety. Tai Chi is easy to learn and suitable for all ages, body types and levels of fitness. Classes will be out in the garden or indoors with a view of the garden in inclement weather. | |

| Description | Dust off your digital point and shoot or single-lens reflex(SLR)cameras and join environmental photographer Ian Adams on this floral photography tour. Begin with a 2-hour classroom session with tips on digital flower and garden photography then car pool to the David G. Leach Research Station in Madison to photograph dozens of spectacular rhododendron, azalea, and viburnum hybrids along with other spring beauties at the peak of their late spring bloom. Review session on Wednesday, June 2 from 7-9pm pm to share and critique photos taken on the tour. Bring a brown bag lunch. |

Salamander Migration Hotline |

| Description | Many salamanders including the large spotted salamander come out of the woods after dark and head to the ponds to lay their eggs on the first balmy spring nights. If you want to help us find and follow these amphibians on their journey then register for our salamander hotline. Only those pre-registered will be admitted. When conditions are right we will email you to come to Lantern Court after dark to witness this spectacular event. Notice is usually less than 24 hours. Depending upon the weather the migration will occur between early March and early April. Space is limited so register soon. Dress for the weather and bring one flashlight per person. No children under six years old and one adult must accompany each child. Directions, parking information and instructions to protect the salamanders will be sent upon registration.
