Fall Through the Lens

Date Saturday, Oct. 19
Time 8am - 4pm
Location Reinberger Classroom
Instructor Ian Adams
Cost $65 members, $80 nonmembers
Description

Whether you use a digital SLR, point-&-shoot camera or your smart phone to take pictures, great nature and garden photographs can be made only when you know how to find interesting and attractive subjects, understand the difference between good lighting and bad lighting, and know how to apply compositional principles to create compelling, beautiful photographs. Join Ohio photographer and writer Ian Adams, author of 19 photography books, for an in-depth workshop devoted to learning to “see” photographically, plus composition and lighting. After a classroom session covering these topics in depth, we’ll spend the afternoon along Pierson Creek and in other Holden areas, focusing on the scenic and close-up beauty of fall foliage, asters, grasses, ferns, and mushrooms. This program includes a review/critique session with Ian on Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 7-9pm to provide you with feedback on your photographs and helpful tips for fine-tuning and sharing them using Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and other image editing software.
