Arbor Day

April 26, 2019 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Corning Visitor Center grounds

Holden Forests & Gardens will hold a free seedling giveaway, along with free admission and a chance to talk to the experts, at both the Holden Arboretum and Cleveland Botanical Garden from 10am to 4pm on Friday, while supplies last. One seedling per family.

This year’s tree seedling is an Asian flowering dogwood, a beautiful small tree with white flowers that bloom in May and early June. It produces red fruit in August and September, and has red foliage in October into November. Older specimens develop a mottled bark, which adds year-round interest to the landscape.

This year’s seedling giveaway is sponsored by the Bartlett Tree Experts.

Arbor Day is also Giving Day at Holden Forests & Gardens. A matching gift from an anonymous donor means that a donation made today will have double the impact and help support the mission and programs at our Arboretum and Botanical Garden campuses. To learn more or to make a gift, click here.
