Even without leaves, many trees are still recognizable during the winter months. Learn the distinguishing characteristics for identifying more than 30 native species in the dormant season. Study branching patterns, growth habits, bark color and bud arrangements. We will be walking outdoors for the entirety of this course, so dress accordingly.

Instructor Bio

Toby Davidson started his career at Holden in 1995 and has been the Horticulturist in the Main Display Garden since 2003.  He earned his A.D. in Forestry from Hocking College and has been a Certified Arborist for the past 20 years.
