Is my membership tax deductible?
All general level Holden Forests & Gardens memberships are fully tax deductible. If you have a donor or leadership level membership or are using a donor advised fund for your membership, please contact Debbie Miller at email@example.com or 216.707.2807 with any additional questions. Please consult your tax advisor to determine whether your donation is tax deductible in whole or in part. Nothing in this communication is intended to constitute legal or tax advice.
Can I apply my admission receipt to the cost of a membership?
Yes! You can apply the cost of the tickets which would have been covered by the membership level you select for purchase. Memberships must be purchased within a week after your visit and receipt/order number is required.
Can I use my membership for admission to other arboretums and botanical gardens?
Holden Forests & Gardens participates in the American Horticultural Society’s Reciprocal Admission Program which provides free or discounted admission or other benefits at participating organizations. Please check the listing for benefits and restrictions.
Can I visit without my membership card?
Yes! Either campus can check your membership level and status onsite when you visit.
How can I replace my lost membership materials?

Can I purchase a membership on the day of my visit?
Yes! Simply let a guest services representative know you are interested in purchasing a membership and they will be happy to help you.
Do I receive free parking with my membership?
Parking at the Holden Arboretum campus is always free. Members receive a discounted parking rate at the Cleveland Botanical Garden campus.
Is my membership good for a calendar year or a year from the date of purchase?
Expiration is the last day of the month in which your membership was purchased or renewed. If a renewal is made early, the full membership term will be applied to your current expiration date, so you never lose any time on your membership term. For example, if a membership is purchased on August 10, 2020 the membership will not expire until August 31, 2021.
Does it matter who I name as my secondary member?
Besides the Individual level, all memberships include the option for a secondary member. You can choose to leave the second name blank and use it as a guest entry each time you visit, or, you can choose to name the secondary member and they will be able to visit with or without you present. If you leave the second name blank, your visitor must accompany you, the member, on your visit.
When will I receive my membership cards?
Member cards and other materials will arrive by mail 1-2 weeks after you have joined or renew your membership. However, you many visit immediately upon purchasing your membership.
Holden Forests & Gardens is committed to respecting our environment and one another. If we find that a member does not respect our environment, our rules, or others, then we reserve the right to revoke your membership without refund.
All patrons entering the Holden Arboretum or Cleveland Botanical Garden premises voluntarily assume all risks and dangers incidental to admission and/or any event, and waives and releases all claims against the Holden Arboretum, its affiliated companies, partners, joint ventures, representatives, members, designees, officers, directors, shareholders, employees, attorneys, agents, successors, and assigns. Admission is subject to compliance with all laws and facility rules and the patron consents to reasonable examinations and searches to ensure compliance. Failure to comply with the law or facility rules may result in refusal of admission or expulsion.
