Student Volunteer Opportunities

Teens age 14+ are welcome to join our volunteer crew! Teens 11 to 13 may also volunteer if parent/guardian is also volunteering for the same event, typically in a nearby but different role.

Special Events (Year-round)

Lend a hand for a one-time event or exhibit, such as Pancake Breakfast, Plant Sale, Goblins in the Garden at Holden Arboretum or the Egg Hunt, Summer Exhibit, Boo-tanical Bash or Glow at Cleveland Botanical Garden. Exhibits do require a one-time orientation, but other events are day-of/on-site training only.

Upcoming Event Opportunities

Spring exhibits and special events are a fun way for students to volunteer and earn service hours. This spring, volunteers can assist with Rainforest Adventure, multiple shifts March 7-April 26, and Egg Hunt on April 11, both at the Cleveland Botanical Garden. At Holden Arboretum, teens can help with the annual Plant Sale event May 15-17.

Family Volunteer Days
Ages Pre-K and up are welcome to participate in our Family Volunteer Day projects. Projects are typically once a season and provide a way for all ages to share some quality time together while giving back to a Holden Forests or Gardens program. Examples of past projects include Easter Egg Stuffing for Egg Hunt, Wildflower Planting, Tree Care/Mulching, Spring Clean Up or Fall Raking.
